Manamusume (まなむすめ)

Not only brewery rice, also delicious eating rice

Manamusume was bred in 1997 by Fukugawa Agricultural Experiment Station, Miyagi. The name “Manamusume” means the breeder caring this rice like his “cute daughter”.

Manamusume got the planting character like disease resistance and cold tolerance. It also got characters like large particle, low protein content, and low broken rate at the high polish, that suitable for brewery rice.

Most brewery rice not sale for eating, but you can buy Manamusume from website directly. Manamusume got high production yield and moderate viscosity, you can taste the umami flavor only with a little salt. The Manamusume is suitable for salty fried rice.
